Like my friends say, "the kids move fast honey!" Seriously, in NYC, you can have a full fledged relationship equivalent to 3 years to most people, in 3 months. Its like meeting a dude Monday...hooking up by Friday...introduce each other's friends by Saturday...saying "I love you" two weeks later...a month passes,keys get made...you break up a week later...a date with someone new the VERY next day.
I've been wanting to post about this for a while and I'm just getting around to it. Its funny watching the forever revolving door of people shuffling in and out. I swear I can't keep up with my friends and their briefly significant others! As for me, I'm the queen of going on one date, give some phone time, and then stop answering calls because I was over it before it started. Standing in a sea of people in my age group getting married or having youngins, I sometimes feel immature. When is my circle going to settle down??
::sigh:: New York... I mean, its cool for your twenties, but its people actually living like this in their 30s and 40s. I expect so much more for my elder years! LoL
For all of my NYers..what do you think about the crazy turnover rates for dating in our fair city? Out-of-towners make sure to weigh in!
